What should I look for when renting a houseboat for a vacation? I'm thinking about renting a houseboat for a vacation this summer or next. It would be for my and two kids (14 & 10) and we thought we'd take another couple to split the costs and their two kids (16 & 10). What do I want to be looking for when I rent a houseboat? Any special amenities? Do most rental companies let you tow a fishing boat or jet-skis with the boat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
How does one begin the process of buying property in another country? I've recently become interested in the possibiltiy of buying a houseboat in Amsterdam and subdividing it into two or more vacation rental apartments. I found some private listing and the cost, depending on the individual houseboat, isn't totally prohibitive. My main question is how do I find a reputable realty company or broker in another country (specifically Amsterdam, Holland)? And do I apply for financing in my own country, the country of the purchase, or some other type of financial institution? Thank you in advance for any helpful info!

My family and I (there are three kids and my wife and me) would like to take a vacation on a houseboats from July 17 through July 24 in the California Delta area. We've never done this before but it sounds interesting. Please send me any information you may have. I'll have to make my vacation plans soon. I have no idea how much this might cost. If we rent a houseboat, we want to know do you provide bedding, dishes, pots and pans, and the like? I'm wondering about navigating a houseboat. Will we have to take a course or training on how to operate it? It may be too difficult for us to operate. How far can we travel in the Delta area in one of your houseboats? What if we decide to stay on more than one week? I actually have two weeks of vacation, but we may want to travel in our RV part of the time. Does insurance come with the rental fee? Our kids want to know if it has TV.
