Houseboat Vacation Rental

Can anyone recommend lake vacation ideas?

I'd like to vacation on a lake. I'd like to have beautiful places to hike, bike and kayak right outside of my door. Does anyone know of any good places?

3. My favorite lake is Lake Cumberland in Kentucky. You can easily rent a boat in the tiny town to take a slow, or fast, ride through the lake. As you boat, you can see neat animals. i remember seeing a mountian goat(not sure what exactly it was). A fun place for kids-or even if you dont have kids- is 26 falls. a 26ft water fall flows to a cove where boats gather to climb up the wall to jump off. You can probably rent a cabin(i stayed in my friends already owned cabin). Hiking and biking are huge activitys down there. Very fun if you love boating espically.
4. My dad is big on lake-vacationing. Here are a few of the places that I think would be good for some outdoorsy activities. Lake Tahoe (California) Crater Lake (Oregon) Lake Powell (Utah) Lake Placid (New York) Great Salt Lake (Utah) You might want to also consider some of the great lakes. They're huge, so there may be some great vacation spots around them.
