live aboard houseboats bay and delta area?

Where can I locate a suitable live aboard and a slip in eith of these areas? Are there other parts of the US that it is easier to do this in?

1. boats are listed at "yacht trader" and "liveaboard" along with many other places, including the Marina's on line. As for finding a slip. It is difficult to find ones that allow live aboards any more. Still possible, but tough. Check the Marina's by name in the area you like. I lived onboard my sailboat for over a year at the Ventura California Harbor. Before that I kept it at kings harbor but the stopped allowing live aboards there.
2. in sausalito calif it is possible to live aboard either a house type boat or a real boat we live on a sail boat downtown sausalito in one of the marinas and there are several hundred like us........ the big houseboats are really just big concrete boxes with houses on them .....and the rents are humungous too. if you own your own boat it will cost about 12 bucks a foot plus utilities you can find a rental sometimes but its mostly word of mouth and it would be best to know the locals on the waterfront
